Knit leader, where have you been all my life?

Why did no-one tell me? I've been struggling with patterns and calculations and sizing, testing with trial and error over and over again. It was so time-consuming and frustrating,  but it turns out that there was a simple solution the whole time: the knit leader.

I just draw out the shape of each piece of the garment in 1:1 scale on a mylar sheet and then I can use this wonderful contraption to knit a piece the exact same shape and size, not matter what material or pattern I use. All I need to do is make a small tension swatch, measure it then use the information to set the scales on the device. I can't believe how easy it is. I think I've probably wasted a year of my life making failed garments that I wouldn't have made if I'd had a knit leader...
